Uninstalling InterviewGuard

How to completely remove InterviewGuard from your computer

Before You Uninstall

InterviewGuard only runs during active interview sessions — it does not run in the background, start at boot, or install any persistent services. If you no longer need it, you can safely uninstall it at any time.

Windows

Method 1: Via Windows Settings (Recommended)

Open SettingsAppsInstalled apps

Search for InterviewGuard

Click the three-dot menu (...) and select Uninstall

Confirm the uninstallation when prompted


Method 2: Via Control Panel

Open Control PanelPrograms and Features

Find InterviewGuard in the list

Right-click and select Uninstall


Optional: Remove Leftover Data

The uninstaller removes the application and its registry entries automatically. To also remove log files and local data, delete the following folder:

C:\Users\<your-username>\AppData\Local\InterviewGuard\

This folder contains application logs and version markers. It is safe to delete after uninstalling.

macOS

Uninstall the Application

Open Finder

Go to Applications

Drag InterviewGuard to the Trash, or right-click and select Move to Trash

Empty the Trash to complete removal


Optional: Remove Leftover Data

To also remove log files and application data, delete these folders:

~/Library/Logs/InterviewGuard/
~/Library/Application Support/InterviewGuard/

Linux

Uninstall the Application

InterviewGuard on Linux is distributed as an AppImage — a self-contained portable executable. To uninstall, simply delete the AppImage file from wherever you saved it.

rm ~/Downloads/InterviewGuard*.AppImage

Optional: Remove Leftover Data

To also remove log files and configuration data:

rm -rf ~/.local/share/InterviewGuard/
rm -rf ~/.config/interviewguard/

What Gets Removed

The uninstaller automatically removes the following:

Application Files

  • InterviewGuard executable
  • Supporting libraries and resources
  • Auto-updater component (Windows)

System Registrations (Windows only)

  • The interview-guard:// URL protocol handler
  • Associated registry entries under HKCU\SOFTWARE\Classes\interview-guard

What Is NOT Installed

InterviewGuard does not install any of the following:

  • Background services or daemons
  • Startup/login entries
  • Scheduled tasks
  • Browser extensions
  • Kernel drivers
